Last week marked the end of my Sing Every Day challenge. Was it a success? I think it was eye-opening in terms of how I prioritize my vocal work and organize my responsibilities. I found that I sing a lot less than I thought I did, and that it has become much harder to fit singing into my schedule now. However, I did feel much more accomplished when I managed to sing most days of the week. I also learned that I much prefer to sing when I am in a practice room or studio, rather than at home. I like being in a separate space - it helps me focus and have a more productive vocal work-out. While I don't always have that luxury, I can try to manage my practice at home in a way that helps me focus. I did find that keeping an eye on my singing guided me to more activities that allowed me to sing, like auditions and singing with friends. I think my vocal routine is a work in progress, but I am glad that this challenge shed some light on my priorities and practicing ethic. Happy singing!
